Golden design for the walls

It is very popular to use the effect trowel to give the creative plaster a broom texture and, after smoothing, to finish it with transfer foil in gold, for example. There are also effects in silver, bronze, interference colours or holograms. With the creative plaster from Stucco naturale, designing such surfaces is child’s play.

What steps are necessary to structure the broom finish and make the wall shine in the desired colour?

  • Apply adhesive primer and leave to dry for 12 hours
  • Mix the colour dough with the desired colour; in our example, it is iron oxide black with 10% by weight. Here are the instructions
  • Mix the creative plaster well with the colour dough and apply the first layer thinly and smoothly with a Venetian trowel. This layer should dry for 12 hours
  • Moisten the surface with water using a spray bottle and allow it to soak in. Apply the second coat of creative plaster and draw the lines with the stippling brush. Allow to set slightly and smooth gently with the Venetian trowel
  • Apply the transfer foil adhesive to the dry surface (leave to dry for at least 12 hours). Only roll on the adhesive for a maximum of two sheets of transfer film and allow to flash off for approx. 10 minutes before applying the transfer film. Press onto the surface by hand or with a squeegee without creases
  • After approx. 2 – 12 hours, remove the film depending on how many gold pigments you want to adhere. The surface still needs approx. 1 day to dry until the adhesive has hardened and the surface is no longer sticky
