Wall stencils for paint, marbled plaster and creative spatula techniques

Wall stencils can be used to create unique patterns, ornaments and decorative accents on walls and other surfaces. Our painting stencils, made from 0.3 mm thick plastic film, are flexible, robust and washable. When used with care, they can be reused many times.

The wide selection of designs ranges from floral and oriental ornaments, through Art Nouveau, mandalas and geometric patterns, to tile motifs, compasses, world maps, animal motifs and stencils for children. This allows you to customise everything from individual accents to borders, repeating patterns and larger wall areas.

Applying wall stencils with marbled plaster

Particularly striking finishes are achieved by combining our wall stencils with Stucco Marmorino. Its fine-grained texture is ideal for applying to the 0.3 mm stencils and enables the creation of three-dimensional motifs with a refined, high-quality finish.

The stencil is fixed in place on the wall where required. Marmorino is then applied thinly over the stencil using a Venetian trowel, ensuring that the cut-out areas are filled evenly with the material.

Once the plaster has set slightly, the stencil is carefully removed. As soon as the resulting motif is sufficiently firm, the surface can be further worked with the trowel and – depending on the desired design – smoothed.

Creating wall stencils with paint

As well as the trowel technique, painting stencils can also be used in the traditional way with paint. The paint is applied sparingly using a suitable stencil brush or paint roller. By using different shades, you can create both subtle patterns and high-contrast wall designs.

The flexible film enables precise and even designs, particularly with recurring ornaments, borders and geometric patterns.

Enhancing wall stencils with special effects

Once dry, stencilled motifs applied with a trowel can be further enhanced with colour or metallic finishes. With our wax glazes, textures and recesses can be highlighted to great effect.

Unique accents can be created using transfer films and metallic leaf. Shades of gold, silver or bronze can be applied selectively to individual areas of the motif, giving the surface a unique and extraordinary effect.
