The visible colour samples have been painted with lime marble paint and 10 % dry paint. If pastel colours are desired, correspondingly less dry paint is used. If you click on the magnifier at the top of the picture, it is written which colour pigments were used in the individual colour examples.

What exactly is the lime paint?

This ready-to-use, ecologically very valuable paint makes walls and ceilings radiantly white. The marble powder contained is highly opaque and therefore the lime paint is easy to apply. Our lime paint does not require a synthetic resin binder or the white pigment titanium dioxide. The high white marble powder and the brilliant white marble lime are completely sufficient for a beautiful, bright lime white.

Ingredients:

  • lime hydrate
  • water
  • marble powder
  • dolomite powder
  • clay
  • beechwood cellulose

For which substrates is lime paint suitable?

Our lime paint is suitable for indoor use.

As undergrounds are suitable:

  • all mineral plasters like
  • lime plaster, fresh or old
  • clay plaster
  • cement plaster
  • lime-cement plaster
  • gypsum-cement plaster
  • dispersion paints
  • silicate paints
  • gypsum plasterboard
  • chipboard
  • clay brick
  • autoclaved aerated concrete
  • lime sandstone

What are the advantages of lime paint?

  • Harmless raw materials for a healthy living space
  • Odorless and moisture regulating
  • Mould inhibiting and fungicidal
  • Antistatic and dust-repellent
  • Matt and highly covering marble white

The substrate should be dry and free of separating substances such as oil stains. Inferior layers should be removed with a wire brush or spatula. If necessary, the substrate can be strengthened with casein primer.

Can lime paint also be tinted in colour?

Marble lime paint can be tinted with all our colour pigments, except with micaceous iron ore. A maximum of 10 weight % can be mixed into the lime paint. This means that for 13 kg of paint, 1.3 kg of dry paint can be added. The marbled lime cannot bind more and the paint would chalk off. The pigments are stirred to a coloured dough and mixed into the lime paint. You can read the instructions for making the coloured dough. Click here to get to the instructions. Before painting, apply one or two coats of white paint, either with a lime brush or a roller. The coats of coloured lime paint are best applied with a lime brush. Unevenly absorbent surfaces lead to stained results. If this is not desired, you can pre-treat with casein primer.

What is the consumption to be expected?

On smooth substrates approx. 130-150 g/m² for one coat. It is recommended to apply 2 coats. The lime paint can be diluted with up to 1 l./bucket of water, depending on the absorbency of the substrate. A previous coat of casein primer balances the absorbency of the substrate. This facilitates the application and reduces the consumption of the lime paint. The final hiding power of the paint is only visible after the lime paint has completely dried.
