If, however, a dispersion paint, plasterboard, glass, tiles, MDF and also reinforced concrete is present as a substrate, the surface is primed with an adhesive primer. The adhesion primer with marble powder must dry out for at least 12 hours, the adhesion primer with vegetable casein can be reworked after approx. 4-6 hours. 2) With regard to the colouring, the plaster can be left in natural white or coloured in any desired shade. Typical travertine colours are Terra di Siena natural, Terra di Siena brownish, Ochre light yellow, Umbra natural or Rosso Sartorius. Travertino is applied to the dried primer with a smoothing trowel in one coat to grain thickness. After a short flash-off time, the travertino trowel is smoothed horizontally. The typical, porous travertine surface is created by the oversize particles contained. If the surface is dry enough, the wall joint can be reproduced with a spirit level and a plasterer´s spattle. Alternatively, a joint pattern can also be stuck on before beginning the coating with liner tape. To do this, simply draw the appropriate size of the stones with a tape measure and mask with the line tape. After smoothing the marble plaster, the tapes are removed again. This results in joints with a width of 3 or 6 mm, depending on which line marking tape is used. 3) The dried surface can now be mixed with colored Punic Wax transparent liquid, up to 2 weight percent pigments can be mixed, coated and polished to emphasize the pores and joints. The walls become dust repellent and can be wiped with a dry cloth.

Instructions for the Travertino structured plaster

Mineral substrates can be coated directly. All other substrates are primed beforehand with an adhesive primer. Travertino is applied in grain strength and not too strongly removed. Immediately afterwards, the surface is rubbed with a plastic trowel in round movements. Allow to flash off briefly and rub with a little pressure with the plastic trowel to create a uniform structure.

Instructions for the Travertino sandy plaster

The substrate is pretreated in the same way as described above. Apply Travertino in grain strength, allow to tighten well and rub with the sponge board (moisten with water) until an even structure is obtained. After aeration, rub again with little pressure to obtain a fine, sandy structure.

Product information

Travertino is a natural white putty for use in decorative wall design.
